Oh, internet browser rpgs..I was talking about making your own characters in a text-based adventure. Those are more fun.

Well no, AOE 2 is a classic, none of the games will come up to it.

AOE is a "strategy game....so it's far from RPG's.....In AOE you create a world...In rpg's the world is created with good and evil....and you have to build a character who shall save...or...overtake the world as it's ruler.....most of the time you are free to do such.

But there is Rpg/action like Dungeon Siege (1 and 2)
RPG/strategy like Heroes of Might and Magic (1-5) or Ace of wonders (1-2)
RPG as Oblivion last in a series of 4

All these are single players game and good.

As for live based RPG's so is that the ultimate....but it heavy depend on a good "game master" who control and develop the task and progress. :)

Text based is also fun, but gives very little room for trying and failing and are most of the time very "linar" that you have to do 1 task before the next open for you:)

My answer was tool first and then colour
spanner pink. I have no idea where this puts me. May I'm backwards in the two percent.

I thought Black Saw....  But perhaps that was because I read Vishwas' reply before I went on to the questioning section....LOL

Or perhaps it is because I was born in Africa....who knows....

2% (thinking out of the box)....But then again, why would people want to think in a box, kinda clausterphobic not so?.....(rolls her eyes and grins impishly).....

(Walks off humming while she adjusts the windmill on her head).....
