Mool Trikona Rashi - Significance of Trikon and Mool

Dear friends,
A word every astrologer used "Mool Trikona Rashi". We are told that every planet have one moontrikona rashi. The words MOOL & TRINKONA combine make the word mooltrikona.
Mool- The root
Trikon- Triangle or trine.
Can any one tell what these two words have to do with the deciding factor of a rashi being regarded as mooltrikona rashi of a planet.

Mool Trikona position gives a strength of 90 per cent to a planet;[THAT IS WHY IT IS CALLED  MOOL TRIKONA]
while in exaltation, it secures 100 per cent strength; and in its own sign, 80 per cent. Mool Trikona positions of different planets are as follows: Sun: Leo 200; Moon: Taurus 270; Mars: Aries 120; Mercury: Virgo 160-200; Jupiter: Sagittarius 100; Venus: Libra 150; Saturn: Aquarius 200.

what are those numbers?? certainly not degrees...

Definitely they are degree with a difference that they are multiplied by 10!!!

What the hell is the use of a MoolaTrikona. I am feeling as it is something bad now.

I have Jupiter which is in Moola Trikona in my house & on top of it, an astrologer told me that Jupiter is bad for me. So what does all this mean. I think vrinchi & amanshu, know about this, plz guys tell me about it.
