Starwars or Startrek?
We all have our fave sci fi programmes but there is a difference of opinion between those who like Starwars and those who like Startrek. Do the poll and tell us why you like them best or if you think they are both rubbish tell us what you like instead?
Enjoy when you can and endure when you must.

I must confess that I am a devoted Trekkie through and through (as my DVD collection proves), having followed all the different TV shows and movies from the original version, all the way to and including Enterprise. It is not so much the technology and the special effects that really get me in, but more that it was based on the positive vision of the future by it's creator Gene Rodenberry.

We could all I feel do with some positive visions of the future now with the current state of the planet as it is (war on terror, global warming crisis etc). It may sound corny and somewhat idealistic to many people, but at least it leaves you feeling that there is still some hope for the planet and for humanity as a whole (even if it is only fiction).
I believe that Star Trek was just as much a spiritual odyssey as merely another excuse for more "cops and robbers" in space. The concept of a Universe where people from all different races, cultures, belief systems and personal preferences and various alien cultures coming together in greater peace and harmony appeals to me like in no other show I have seen, and keeps me watching the episodes again and again.
I do not hate or even dislike Star Wars, but rather although I did watch one or two of the original movies, I never took the time to really get to know the characters, or ever especially felt the urge to do so.
Live long and prosper,

I love both and watch both as much as possible.
it was disappointing to see that the new enterprise was pulled,.. jolene blalock was sooooooooooo hot!! (t'pol)
i've been watching re-runs of voyager on spike tv and i play the star trek ccg with some friends.
as for star wars, the movies are great, there's a rumor of a tv series sponsored by lucas but until then i guess i'll still play my ps2 star wars battlefront II online.
i'm in clan {bob} darthomax if any one ever plays...............great poll by the way!!!
And the star trek series makes one think too about alot of real life issues i do agree.would be wonderful to have a team oriented society who strived for the greater good rather than who could be wealthy........

I would have been a trekkie, but there have been to many episodes and too many Enterprises.
I like Star Wars. I have always liked DarthVadar.
The line that he says, "Luke I am your father come to the Dark side always cracks me up".
Because my next door neighbors son when to another neighbors house once. He saw their teenage son's althletic cup on the shelf in the livingroom, he picked it up, put it on his face and said "Luke I am your father, come to the dark side." The kid hasnt lived it down yet, and that happend about 6 or 7 years ago.. LMAO

You cannot beat Ryker on a good day, or the soothing tones of Picard making it so, now if only we could have Ryker dubbed with Picard's voice......... lol
Star Wars is brilliant too, but I never know why they are compared to Star Trek really, they are so different, Star Trek is all about humans and mankind and a possible future reality, Star Wars is total fiction and a make-believe world.
That said gimme a young Obi-wan and you can keep Ryker and Picard lolol

Starwars!
Absolutely Starwars.
I love love love it...
I think there are many cosmic messages and truths within.
It's presentation is brilliant. I feel this work of art was channelled.
The last part of the series... is actually beginning of the story...
It taught me many things... especially to look for the big picture
Nothing is as it seems .... Karma rules
Everytime I watch it I find something new and profound.

Anyone else of the opinion that the Powers That Be are using Sci-Fi to soften us up to the idea that we are not alone in the Multiverse? Is it not now true that if an alien was to land in Time Square, everyone would say "Ah, well, we KNEW that, didn't we - they've been in Area 51 for years!"
Or not??
Or not??
There *really* is no God.
Starwars, eh, Evie??
So why the Vulcan Salute on your Avatar??
Ha Ha - I Have You!!

Ahhhh My avatar.... That is the peace sign from the 70's Dear ....
You seem to agree that 'the powers that be' have been softening us
to accept the appearance of Aliens. I have had this same thought myself.
ET > call home... this was very effective in reducing 'fear' of Alien energy.
Close Encounters of the Third kind... One of my favorite movies...
I'd wanna go on the spaceship too!
Starwars > the first series was geered to the youth in us... the second
to the adult that we became.... Totally cosmic. I think
Funny thing here is your signature...and your comment 'the powers that Be'
contradict each other
Gotcha????
