Indonesian culture got influence from many regions,
Especially from India, Arab, China

India culture came first, Hinduism and Buddhism are the two first religion from outside Indonesia.

The language (Sanskrit) came along with those religion :
Sanskrit influenced local language and became the root of ancient Javanese language (bahasa Jawa Kuno).

Today, many words in Sanskrit are still widely used and understood. But many words are forgotten.

Some words I know (and I suspect) that they came from Sanskrit, such as :
The numbers :
Eka (1)
Dwi (2)
Tri (3)
Catur (4)
Panca (5)
Sapta (7)
Dasa (10)

Animal
Singa (Simha / Lion)
Garuda (Eagle)

Pawana (Pavana/Wind)

Brajamusti (Vajramushti/Thunderbolt fist)
Maha (great)
Mahaguru (great teacher)
Mahasiswa (student in university)
Raja
Samadhi
Widya (Vidya/knowledge) It is used for female name
Sakti/Shakti

There are still many more words I can’t write all of them here.
