mudgala hora and maitreya's dream

Post by olusanya » Fri Mar 16, 2007 5:05 pm

Here are two more Jyotish programs that are free to download.

Mudgala Hora

Image

This software is released for the purpose of enabling additional research into Jyotisha. It is written entirely in C# (managed code), and links with the high precision Swiss Ephemeris for the backend calculations.

Those who want an end-user product should use the Jagannatha Hora software.

Those who wish to modify the behaviour of dasas etc, and have a good grounding in computer programming may find this program useful.

Maitryea's Dream

Maitreya is a free software for Vedic and western astrology.

The software supports

   * Many features for the daily work of Vedic and western astrologers.
   * A large number of calculation options that make the program a stable basis for research purposes.
   * High precision calculation.
   * Several platforms including Windows, Linux and UNIX.

The unborn Lord has many incarnations. He has incarnated, as the Navagrahas to bestow on the living beings the results due to their Karmas. He is Janardan. He assumed the auspicious form of Grahas to destroy the Asuras and sustain the Devas.

Not for predictions, but for casting and research.

Nothing like Jagannath Hora software. The calculations are just perfect except the tajik sahams, and it lacks certain Tajik options:
http://www.vedicastrologer.org/jh/

Besides the above mentioned it is infallible, and the best research toll.

Next to this Parashara Lite, which has classical texts like B.P.H.S. included:
http://www.astrologysoftwareshop.com/vedic.asp

If a native has the above 2 astrology softwares, I would consider his kitty nearly full.

I have these 2 softwares + 8 astrology softwares+ have tried many others. The above is the result till now.

Happy learning,

RishiRahul

I like JHora too Rishiji.
It is like a one-stop-shop.
It gives you the divisional charts, yogas, Ashtakavarga, dasas, antardashas.
One thing I did not understand there is Kalachakra. I really don't know what purpose it serves.

Also, in the yogas, it gives some generic yogas which don't materialize (some like 4 planets being next to each other, etc).
Overall, it is a great software.

Kalachakra Dasha is supposed to be the most acceptable Nakshatra Dasha. I do not use it much.

Kalchakra and Yogini dasha by Sri Chugh is a good book. Generic yogas are a base and are general, but an important base.

Rishirahulji,
I found another great use for this software yesterday.
I was reading some articles on Tithi pravesha by Sanjay Rath and it required to find out the correct TP time.

JHora was really useful since I could get the exact amount of tithi remaining, hora lord and other useful information on one page.

Kudos to the person who thought about this software.

Regarding the yogas, do you use some yogas like planets other than nodes to the 12th of sun or mOon ?

I follow the books, but not entirely while predicting events.

The books are my base for knowledge. Added to this is views of so many others...call them insignificant even.

The rest are their blends with experience, after adding 'FEELINGS'; without which my predictions are nowhere. In short my predicting is based on books, but not so.

Rishirahulji,
I have seen many of your responses and am really amazed at your accuracy and the different angles you think from.

Mere knowledge is not enough. You must have a strong intuition and an x-factor(which cannot be explained) to give out such amazing predictions.

That is the reason I had posted a query requesting your help.
(Bad luck)

Can I ask you where you learnt your astrology from?
Do you look at AL, Argalas, etc while giving out predictions?

Rajitha,

I think you guys praise me too much. I do not base my predictions on intuition. X factor, I am not too sure what it is.

Good luck,

RishiRahul
