Some incense sticks associations

Post by aelis2004 » Mon Aug 01, 2005 10:19 am

I recently bought some Indian incense sticks and on the back of the envelope they are contained in list some very interesting meditation/religious associations.

Varuna - Seaweed
Ganga - Bamboo
Dharma - Cinnamon
Vayu - Cedar
Hanuman - Coconut
Garuda - Eucalyptus
Bhumi - Orange blossom
Kali - Hibiscus
Agni - Frankincense
Ganapati - Jasmine
Rama - Lavander
Surya - Lemon
Brahma - Lotus
Parvati - Honeysuckle
Karttiekeya - Myrrh
Saraswati - White musk
Kuvera -Musk
Indra - Nirvana
Siva - Opium flower
Durga - Patchouly
Laksmi - Rose
Visnu - Sandalwood
Chandra - Soma
Krsna - Vrindavana flower

If you know of others, please post them! The one I got is called "Ananda" and is made of Lemon, Soma, Nirvana and Orange blossom incense - I really like it!

I also have some shorter Indian sticks, the only thing I know about them is that they are called "6 'o clock".... I think from the flower picture they look like tulips or poppies, and I love it! There is something written on the box but it must be Hindi... I bought more of it, I love to use this incense during my afternoon meditations and siesta.

P.S. I hope I got all the spelling right.... this was very tiny writing on the back of the box!
