Absolutely! You will find no myth, no saga, no nothing in Norse mythology that mentions the blank rune... as it has been said here, the elder futhark is divided in three aets of 8 runes, and that's the only way it should be. 25th rune does nothing but destroying the whole conception.

According to my opinion, the Blank Rune is the "Rune of Mahamudra". I'm always think of the Runes as stages, and The Blank Rune is the stage where all Runes(all stages) are available. It's a stage where we are not being controled by circumstances, instead, we control them--by shaping the cicumstances, shaping our destiny--the way we want it to be. It is the Rune of Isis, Maria(Mary/Madonna), Shiva, Brigit, etc.
