what does a pschic do

Throughout the years, people with psychic powers have been called many different things. These include augur, second sight, fortunetellers, Clairvoyance and Profits. While what people call a psychic over the years may have changed, for the most part the general idea and abilities of psychics has remained the same.

Having a psychic power simply means you can see things that are not commonly seen with the bare eye. Some psychics may also use a variety of tools to clarify and stimulate their powers, such as tarot cards. Others may believe they have the power to act as a medium, allowing those who have died to communicate with the living world.

Some people see psychics on a regular basis for psychic readings. It is through these readings that serious life problems are solved, thanks to the believed ability of the psychic to see into the deeper workings of a client’s mind.

The danger of a psychic reading is that you may find out things that you really did not want to know. This is why some people embrace these powers while others remain skeptical or scared away by the idea.

In 1766, the very first known psychic was born. Dr. Franz Antoine Mesmer lived until he was 49 years old, passing away in 1815. While many people today have questioned how powerful he really was, he was known in his own time as a clairvoyant who could heal people.

A trio of psychics well known in historical accounts was the “Fox Sisters.” Margaret, Kate, and Leah Fox were a big part of the well known Hydesville psychic movement that occurred in 1948 and were known for their ability to communicate with dead people. They put on shows where objects flew around the room on their own and strange noises appeared on cue.

It was not uncommon for some churches to get in on this type of power as well. They would claim to have connections to the dead and the power to cast out demons. Of course, it was quite some time before people (including Houdini) actually started buying into these powers full force.

A lot of skepticism about psychic powers comes from the fact that every human has some type of precognitive ability. We commonly refer to it as instincts, but many people relate it to the power of prophecy. There have been many instances of people calling a loved one just as something really bad was happening because they sensed something was wrong. You may have had your own experiences with knowing things, such as who is on the phone before you say hello.

Also, the term dj vu has been big throughout history but is now related to events where someone may see something in a dream that really comes true.

The Universe guides may psychics in reading signs and symbols. These psychics believe that items such as stones, sticks, cards, dice, tealeaves, and shells and help them to predict the future. At one time priests would try to predict the future by watching the patterns that occurred when he poured oil into water. These practices are referred to as mantic arts. We find that in history many of these practices were banned and ever persecuted by Christians.

As we can see the history of psychic readings reaches back into the ancient world. In early Egypt psychics were part of the royal court, they were advisors to the Kings. Before any decisions were made, a psychic was consulted. Although this job was prestigious, it was often difficult. If a psychic were to have the wrong answer to a problem then he or she might face time in prison or even the death penalty.

Later, psychic readers were prosecuted along with fortunetellers, during the Salem Witch Trials. At this time, Christians came down hard on these women because they claimed that this was the work of the devil.

Today Psychics are widely accepted as part of society. They are prominent in large cities, as well as in books, on the radio, on television and on the internet.

Of course, there is still a lot of doubt and skepticism surrounding this type of power. While it is no longer demonized, many people still do not believe psychic powers are real.

Fortunately, some doubt is starting to disperse and more people realize that most psychics do have real powers. There are fakes in every profession, so this one cannot be expected to be any different.

In fact, science is now proving that every human being has some level of psychic power. These powers are of varying degree, but they can be developed if you are determined.

Psychics may be more widely accepted in today's society, but that doesn't mean that all psychics today all posses the same skill and accuracy in readings. There are a lot of people who advertise as psychics who have no actual psychic powers and skills and only pretend to be psychics in order to prey on vulnerable people.

This is why it is highly recommended that people should first do a little research regarding authentic psychics before getting and actual psychic reading. For those who wish to learn more about professional psychics, they should first learn about how to get  accurate readings.

There is some misinformation in this article - so take what resonnates and leave the rest.  Putting Dr. in front of your net name does not make for an experienced voice.  Be discriminating in your research.

The earliest psychic dates back to the first man and woman on earth.  And I have recorded information on one from much earlier in human history than the 1800s.

The fact is that psychic abilities are related to our senses - sight, sound, smell, taste, touch - tatile and emotional - and our sensitivities add intuition from the gut, and I know from the heart.  Mediumship and psychic are not the same thing.  They can intertwine in abilities, but are not necessarily the same thing in practice.

Each and every human being that opens to their own sensitivities is capable.  Our material energies keep us busy in day to day life and the occult (unseen) is not always addressed.

If we can all be sensitive then a psychic reading is not necessarily the most necessary event.  Try using your own instincts and senses and it will give you just as much information.  There is nothing 'special' or 'different' about psychic abilities - try out your own.

God bless, J
