cry in sleep

Post by swetha » Wed Jan 05, 2011 5:00 am

Why do people cry in their sleep? Maybe sometimes it is because of nightmares, but doesnt it scare the hell out of others??

Tears are a cleansing.  And dreams help us resolve our emotions.  So maybe tears are just a release of the old to make room for the new in light and love.

I know what you mean Swetha, I have seen my husband cry and whimper in his sleep. He is a tough strong man and it really worries me what on earth could make him feel like that. He also has been known to sleep walk and sleep talk lol, though thankfully in the morning he doesn't even know what happened.
A cascade of light shone down on me, then the angels spoke, and set me free,

My husband was crying the other because he saw a dream. My dad and uncle cry at times.

Do you think for men it is there need to feel so macho when in the conscious state, they need to release emotions that build up?  Dreams are about our unresolved emotions from the conscious state of mind.

This makes sense from a Jungian perspective.  As men tend to repress there emotional natures due to this being seen as a feminine trait, this will be compensated for in dreams. Conversely young womens dreams are said to be more violent than mens. I dont know this as fact though.
