Where is the line of Mars and what is an upward branch

I was wondering where in the palm is the line of mars and what does it signify.....

Also what does it mean to have a strong thick upward branch towards the end of the lifeline going up and it is on the outside of the lifeline not the inner side....I guess it goes toward the fate line in a way
