you can have fishes in your aquarium. but, can you pet them? how do you enjoy their company? they do not interact like dogs and cats and birds. are they only meant to bring fortune?

An aquarium is a vivarium consisting of at least one transparent side in which water-dwelling plants or animals are kept. Fishkeepers use aquaria to keep fish, invertebrates, amphibians, marine mammals, turtles, and aquatic plants. The term combines the Latin root aqua, meaning water, with the suffix -arium, meaning "a place for relating to.
An aquarist owns fish or maintains an aquarium, typically constructed of glass or high strength acrylic plastic. Cuboid aquaria are also known as fish tanks or simply tanks, while bowl-shaped aquaria are also known as fish bowls. Size can range from a small glass bowl to immense public aquaria. Specialized equipment maintains appropriate water quality and other characteristics suitable for the aquarium's residents.

Watching them slowly swim around and listening to the bubbles from the air pump can be extremely relaxing, and help to bring down our stress levels.
This is why they are often found in doctor's or dentist's waiting rooms.
Instead of wanting to hug or pat them like you would a dog or cat, allow their slow gentle movements and sounds of harmony and contentment to "hug" or "pat" you.
Or more precisely allow their positive energies to combine with those of the running/moving water (which generates negative ions), to massage and calm down and resynchronize your own energies.
Their simple contentment and much more relaxed acceptance of life, can in turn be caught by us?

Also a perfectly valid reason to want to continue to look at them. They are fascinating to look at... I'm content with that.
