Electional Astrology the Astrology of Timing

Electional astrology is utilized in choosing the most appropriate time to begin something. The intent is to achieve a successful outcome, and the rules applied are very specifically set toward that end. Many of the rules have their foundation in horary astrology, the counterpart to this work. Horary astrology is the art of answering a question by analysis of a chart drawn for the precise moment of the question. Within the horary chart lies the answer to the question, and all circumstances surrounding the matter. Unlike horary, which answers after the fact, electional astrology approaches the matter beforehand and "elects" an appropriate time to achieve a desired outcome. Though the rules are the same, they are applied differently.
The election chart itself is drawn for the place where the event will occur at a certain time in the future. At its best, an election chart will make use of the most beneficial planetary alignments on any given day. Since the Moon is of primary importance in all election work, she is given precedence, though the rulers of the elected matter are also considered. The Moon's applying aspects, describe the unfolding of the electional matter. The Sun and Moon in good alignment will always enhance the election, and contribute to a successful outcome.
The elected time is the exact moment chosen to begin something. It is calculated to give you an advantage in the matter. The time selected has a twofold purpose. Primary is to strengthen the person initiating the action. This person is always shown by the first house, and the Moon. Secondary is to strengthen the house of the electional matter. The house is determined by the main theme of the election. In considering the correct time, one must keep in mind the moment of finality. This is when there is no longer control in the matter, and it is out of your hands.

Electional is a form of Horary astrology.

Good to know that you like & practise it possibly.
We have a pretty accurate horary astrologer here.

Hello RishiRahul and thank you for the invitation.

I did horary astrology for many years but now my focus is electional astrology.  I have written a book on this subject, published in 2005 and I now write apps for android and iOS devices based on electional timing.

I would be happy to contribute articles from time to time on the subject of electional astrology.

A mixed day is one in which more than once influence effects the quality of the day. Today begins with a void-of-course moon until 12:38 PM eastern time when she moves into Sagittarius. While the moon is void, there is not enough momentum to enable projects to take hold so it is best to delay new initiatives for the time being. Once the moon moves into Sagittarius, grand and creative ideas abound but may not be practical when put to the test. However, don't give up and keep experimenting until you succeed because this is a time when well-thought-out innovative concepts can materialize.

Today begins with a void-of-course moon until 1:02 PM eastern time when she moves into Capricorn. During the early hours while the moon is void, delay new initiatives and important decisions. This time is best used for routine activities and inner work. Once the moon moves into Capricorn, projects proceed slowly and some delay is likely. As Mercury finally completes two challenging alignments with Pluto and Mars, disagreements are resolved and it is possible to find common ground. You can make progress by agreeing to disagree.

Indecision can be a factor or perhaps someone you were depending on may disappoint you. In any case, it can be difficult to make headway. Mixed Day
The day begins with a void-of-course moon until mid-day when she moves into Aquarius. While the moon is void, there is not enough momentum to get projects off the ground so it's best to delay new initiatives for the time being. Later, difficult alignments can interfere with plans. The Sun is in a stressful square with Mars so tempers flare, and we are challenged to negotiate fairly but it is possible to make progress with a level head. Moreover as Mars begins to square Jupiter, overconfidence can lead to impulsive decisions so be sure ego does not get in the way.
