I would to be on a Tarot Group. I might not have the time to do large tutorials but I'd love to help, within my limitations, to the new members that feel lost.

I believe yes/no questions simply suck! xD But still, there are cards that refer specifically to health problems, at least in Marseilles, and you can see things like: blood problem, muscle problem and so on. When someone asks about the death of a loved one that means the other person is pretty bad s...

In my experience, cards tend to "jump" specially when you have not considered something. For example, once somebody was asking about a relationship that had just ended and surprise! a card jump in, a young man entering this girl's life. It was very funny 'cause I told her...forget about this relatio...

Hi: I usually do a loophole to avoid asking about the specific time. For example, I tell the querent that he/she should ask if a job is coming in the next month, 2-months, etc. We set a time spam. So, according to that I do a usual three-card spread. If the cards are good, then, it is a yes. In that...

I've been asked about that in some readings when someone wants to know about a relative's health. It's extremely awkward and uncomfortable. But I do believe it is a valid question in cases like that. In one particular reading I got the Death card but it was in the middle of a three-card spread and t...

Dear Cedars: Funny how things work... I was just thinking how long it had been since I last visited the forum and here I found your message. Sorry to be out of touch for so long but I took an "on the side" job and it's been totally time-consuming. Between that and the lodge I attend to, I'm pretty s...

Hi Guys: To continue with the comments and clarifications. It doesn't add to our discussion on the tarot but Islam was founded in the 7th century and though Christianity, Judaism and Islam believe in the Old Testament, Christians have added the New Testament and the Muslims, the Coran. The Coran is ...

I know a lot of people who do not use reversals. I usually shuffle the deck once, but mixing the cards in circles with my hands so that I know some cards are reversed while others are not. However, in Marseilles not all cards have reversals so, this is not as important as in the RW deck. Still, the ...

Thanks a lot for taking the time to give such a detailed answer :). And yes, things have always been confusing between the two of us and we're both very proud but also sensitive. It's a weird combination so yes. I think I'll have to get into his life again and see where we go fromt there :P Thx agai...

Now I'm reading the Book of Thoth and the cards also have astrological and qabalistic symbols BUT has anyone checked if the Thoth deck has the same symbols as the Rider Waite? It would be interesting to check if Crowley added any modifications regarding this to his deck. Or am I just splitting hairs...

Need some advice from Cedars

Dear Cedars: Here's the thing.  I've had a crush for a guy for many years and we've been flirting in a out for a looooong time. We dated a couple of times but then he went abroad and when he returned I was not in the mood to see him. Now I DO want to see him and we had agreed to meet but he's cancel...

Hi Cedars: Lol, of course! Usually, you don't get along with the people that are closest to you xD Like neighbors, co-workers, family....and so on. And I was making the difference because I don't know of any arabic influence on the tarot, except maybe for the numbers, but still. I had no idea you cam...

Hi Cedars: Qabalah is not arabic, is hebrew. The Rider Waite tarot, as coming from the Golden Dawn takes a lot from the Qabalah and mixes it with astrology and many other things. Though the original Qabalah is Judish, the tarot is not--so as not to confuse you guys!. Following with the discussion on...

I use reversals too but I try to interpret them usually according to the position in the spread and the surrounding cards. I've usually seen that they represent blocked situations or how things "should" be. So, I draw another card to see what's blocking that situation.

Just my thoughts :)
